FAQ: Why does the top cover of the N3300 series load mainframe requires some force to get it down, and why does it tend to rock a little?

There is a raised rubber gasket that runs the length of the unit that seals the area to the right side of the first load module when the cover is installed. This gasket prevents forced cooling air from rolling over the top of the 1st module and finding its way back into the cooling fan, which would raising the internal temperature of the mainframe.

To ensure the effectiveness of the seal, a certain amount of mechanical force is required to be applied to push the cover down onto this gasket..
